“As the vanquished charwoman of time begins to Shake-n-Vac the shagpile of eternity, I notice that we have just run out of time.”
Sad to hear that legendary jazz trumpeter, cartoonist, author, and calligraphist Humphrey Lyttelton has died at age 86.
Lyttelton also was the long-time host of the witty, chaotically improvisational, and often very, very naughty BBC Radio show, “I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.” His on-air persona of the this-is-all-beneath-me host was deadpan and impeccable.
So long, Humph -- the world has lost one of its greatest double-entendre provocateurs.
