Twitchy Times at Freeper High

Wow. Things are getting really itchy bitchy over at Free Republic. You got your all-out stalin-schizoid purges of suspected socialist Guilianistas … your full-blown immigration tremens … your widespread semi-compulsory Fred Thompson leg humping … your full-tilt brown-people bashing … and your usual irrational whatnot.

That all of this is coinciding with the near total evaporation of Bush support on Free Republic just adds to the fun. Take, for example, this irreverent comment on the Daily Pray for Bush thread.
Dear Jesus,

Smack George upside his head, please. You’re the only one who can get close enough.
And a perfunctory Day in the Life of President Bush account of his appearance at the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast unleashed some very un-Christian-like commentary, in both English and Spanish.

Finalmente mis rezos se han contestado!

Some of the banned and the purged and the merely disgusted can be found in cyber-refugee camps, comparing notes about Jim Robinson and his inner circle. It ain't pretty.

And given that Free Republic raises nearly $250,000 a year from monthly donations and quarterly fundraising drives, it's only a matter of time until accusations of financial shenanigans start flying.

Who knows? Maybe Alberto Gonzales will be back in private practice by then and, as they say, available.
