Who cares — it's tax deductible!

Al Hubbard, Director of the National Economic Council, was at the joystick yesterday for the Ask the White House session on Bush's Health Savings Accounts. My favorite Q&A:
Jason, from Cleveland, Ohio writes:
Dear Mr. Hubbard: How come the United States is the only developed nation without universal health care? It seems as though it works fairly well in other countries such as the UK, Germany, and Canada. Do you see a time when America does have a universal health care system?

Al Hubbard
I certainly hope not.
There were numerous comments and questions from people who said the HSAs were useless to them because they simply did not have the money to put into the accounts.

But Hubbard shouldered on, pointing out what tax-sheltering beauties these accounts are. Really, how can someone not see the wisdom in choosing to tax-shelter money that you don't have in exchange for medical care that you do need?
