Karl Rove as the Ninth Marquis of Queensberry?

"I’m telling you. The Republicans better stop playing by their usual Marquis of Queensberry rules and take the gloves off before this thing spins completely out of control."
From a comment made in response to David Horowitz's "The Hate Bush Hurricane" at Moonbat Central.

Here's another classic comment from the same post.
Republicans better wake up to what is going on and close ranks around the president. There are a sizable and growing number of people who think that they finally have the issue that they will be able to use to do what they have been trying to do since January 2001 – destroy the president.

Does anybody really have to set out to destroy Bush? He seems perfectly capable of destroying himself.

And like many people who are self-destructive, Bush seems casually indifferent to the fact that he's taking a good many innocent people down with him.
I firmly believe that there are many on the left who are privately gleeful* in that they believe that they finally got him. Count on a concerted effort over the next 2 ½ years to turn the nation’s attention away from 9-11 and the GWOT and focus it on Katrina and the aftermath, particularly if Iraq is a success as I believe it will.
So here's the official wingnut way to think things through:
1. 9/11 -- spectacular success!

2. Iraq -- phenomenal success in the making!

3. Hurricane Katrina -- see Nos. 1 and 2
*Remember: All non-Republicans are kinkily gleeful relishers of defeatism. It's the political theme of the new century. And you have to admit that for those inclined to do so, there has been much to relish lately.
