Taintola

Over at Townhall, Amanda Carpenter is all breathless innuendo about the Coleman-Franken vote recount. It seems that Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie has some vile and unsavory connections and he should be forced to step away from the ballot boxes (or optical scanning devices or whatever).

First of all, Ritchie is a Democrat. Astonishing, isn’t it. Why our states don’t develop an elite corps of deaf-blind-mute non-voting IT guys to oversee voter registration and elections I’ll never understand.

Second -- and I don’t know how Ms. Carpenter overlooked this -- Minnesota’s state department building is located on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Saint Paul. Yes, you read that right -- Martin Luther King Boulevard. Enough said.

Third and fourth, Ritchie has well-known “ties to far-left organizations including ACORN and the Communist Party of the USA.”

The ties may be well known, but just how binding are they?

Well, it seems that “Ritchie once worked as a leader of a coalition group that coordinated with ACORN in 2004.” And if you think being the leader of a coalition group that even just once coordinated something with the nefarious ACORN is an unspeakable evil, more damning still is this: “the Communist Party of the USA wrote on their website that Ritchie ‘could play a valuable national role’ in protecting voter rights.”

What an unconscionable bastard.
