A revolting descent into tabloid journalism: Grainy footage at 11

Oh come on already. Let’s just admit that the Philadelphia Democratic debate is now in the pantheon of so-awful-it-was-great media productions, which also includes Flavor Flav’s Flavor of Love and anything with Dennis Miller but especially his appearances with Bill O'Reilly.

George and Charlie are a symptom, not a cause, and they were unlucky enough to be on the TeeVee when the great snapping of the collective patience of the American electorate occurred.
We the undersigned deplore the conduct of ABC's George Stephanopoulos and Charles Gibson at the Democratic presidential debate on April 16. The debate was a revolting descent into tabloid journalism and a gross disservice to Americans concerned about the great issues facing the nation and the world. This is not the first Democratic or Republican presidential debate to emphasize gotcha questions over real discussion. However, it is, so far, the worst.
That was from an open letter signed by more than 40 exasperated journalists. You can almost hear them slamming the door on the way out.

Well, it’s nice that they took the time to deplore.
