Please tweak our meds

We are a manic-depressive nation. Not a nation of manic-depressives, but a nation that zooms-zooms-zooms splats.
The Conference Board, in its monthly survey of 5,000 households, said its consumer-confidence index dropped sharply in August after surging in July to a six-year high.
This is the latest splat in chart form.

Zoom. We are inventive, bold, energetic, daring, expansive, liberating, chosen-by-god, jazzed, twitchy, restless, spooked, freaked, cursed-by-god. Splat.

And all in four weeks' time.
