Abramoff-affiliated money—spin-related weaseling activities

This has all the sledge hammer linguistic nuance as the sudden transformation of ready-to-blow Iraq WMDs into weapons of mass destruction program-related activities.

Whenever the Bush people panic, they hyphenate.

So when the RNC lists the names of Democrats who have received Abramoff-affiliated money, you can be assured that the named Democrats did not get a dime from Abramoff.

Oh, the RNC will work it to death. All the robotic repeaters of the talking points will keep saying Abramoff-affiliated money and none of the on-air-heads* will stop and say, "Excuse me. What do you mean by affiliated."

Because if one of the on-air-heads actually did ask that question, then the robotic repeater would have to flip through the mental index cards and come up with something like this: Well, the Heckawis had a business relationship with Abramoff. And the Heckawis once contributed $1850 to the campaign fund of Democrat candidate Wilton Parmenter. See. So Parmenter received Abramoff-affiliated money."

And there would be a brief moment of hope — perhaps the on-air-head would say, "That's absurd."

More likely, though, the on-air-head will simply say, "I'm sorry, we've got to stop it right there. We have a hard break coming up in 5 seconds. We'll be right back."

And guaranteed, at this year's Easter Feaster my brother-in-law twice removed with be barking about Democrats getting Abramoff-affiliated money and how Parmenter is an Abramoff Democrat.

And I will keep repeating the mantra: Juice up the laptop, Spud, because he did not get a dime. Did not get a dime. Did not get a dime. Did not get a dime….

*Except maybe Alan Colmes, but his mic won't be working at that moment.
