Talk about missing your own point

Here's Debbie: She's blonde, she's conservative, and she's spinning her own tassels.
SCHLUSSEL COLUMNS GET RESULTS!: Unions Boycott "Flight Plan"; GOP Cancels Terror Supporter
By Debbie Schlussel

Sometimes, even a little website, like mine, can make a difference:

* As a result of my column on the outrageous Jodie Foster movie, "Flight Plan," the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA)--the flight attendant's union--is boycotting the movie, APFA spokeswoman and flight attendant Lori Bassani told me. Also as a result of my column, the Federal Air Marshals Association (FAMA) also has sent out mass e-mails calling for the boycott of this irresponsible, PC-mad movie.

Me in Today's WASHINGTON TIMES
By Debbie Schlussel

My column exposing Jodie Foster's outrageous new movie, "Flight Plan," was quoted/excerpted in today's Washington Times in the "Inside Politics" column.

My thanks to columnist Greg Pierce who regularly pens the well-read (and well-written) column, excerpted here (SPOILER ALERT--do not read if you don't want to know the plot of "Flight Plan")….
Wow. Think about that. Debbie goes to all that trouble getting people to boycott a movie and then she puts up a SPOILER ALERT when discussing the movie's plot.

I can't decide if she's overly considerate or just dumb, because the best way to dent the box office of an action-thriller-suspense movie is to give away the surprise ending. Really, Debbie, if the movie is that offensive to American values, that -- oh, what's the word, disgusting -- then SPOIL AWAY.

And why does Debbie consider the PC-mad movie deserving of a boycott? Well, I don't want to be a spoiler either. You'll just have to trust Debbie:
The movie, which opens nationwide today, is "an outrageous piece of propaganda and incredible display of the irresponsible," declares Debbie Schlussel. "If you're a freedom-loving American like me, the rotten tricks of this movie will disgust you."
Interesting side note: A distant relative of Schlussel's is the movie's executive producer.
I'm embarrassed to say that a very distant cousin of mine--Charles J.D. Schlissel--is executive producer of this outrage. The J.D. must stand for "Just Despicable." If you're a freedom-loving American like me, the rotten tricks of this movie will disgust you.
Did I mention that Debbie can get to be a bit repetitious?
