A rant is one thing, but this is just stupid and sloppy

Perhaps if organizations like PETA would take some time from tossing paint on people who wear fur and putting together offensive comic books to channel some of their resources, efforts and time on the task of rescuing people who have pets from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina so they wouldn't need to be separated they could gain a bit of credibility with the American people. It would certainly beat the image that they have now with many.
Perhaps if Salvato actually did some research, he might have checked out the PETA website.

Here's PETA's most recent update on its Katrina-related activities. Among the many items listed and linked, Salvato might have found this of interest:

PETA Testimony Accepted by Congress; Calls Still Needed!

PETA’s campaign to ensure that animals are included in future disaster plans—kicked off by the prominent placement of this ad in multiple Washington, D.C., newspapers—progressed with Congress’ acceptance this afternoon of PETA Director Daphna Nachminovitch’s powerful testimony to the House of Representatives Government Reform Committee.

Nachminovitch and PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk expect to present this compelling information to Congress—in person—soon. Please help ensure that our expert statements are heard by asking the committee chair, Rep. Tom Davis, and its ranking minority member, Rep. Henry Waxman, to allow PETA representatives to appear before them. Call Rep. Davis at 202-225-1492 and Rep. Waxman at 202-225-3976 today.

Even Goebbels must have done some actual research at some point.
