Maybe it's easier to divine the Holy Spirit on HDTV with Surround Sound

A FReeper response to a column, Robertson's Fatwa, by the Rev. Robert A. Sirico.
I hesitate to make any comment because it is unseemly for a Christian to find fault with others. I hope this comment doesn't indicate fault (I don't mean for it to), but I have never felt the Holy Spirit speak to me through Pat. I don't know Pat particularly well, but I have come to believe this: when the Holy Spirit comes to you or me through another believer (it is has happened many times to me), it is an awesome thing...His Truth and His Love and His Wisdom are abundant. I am told by men and women more knowledgeble than me (than I am) that, when the Holy Spirit speaks through another human, that human must have willingly given himself over to God. That human must be willing, even joyfully so, to allow the H.S. to live in and indeed speak through that person.

I have never heard the eternally potent voice of the H.S. speak through Pat (but maybe I missed that broadcast).

I suggest that Pat speaks from a knowledge of doctrine, not a knowledge of the Living Spirit of God...that Pat speaks for Pat.
It is shocking that a person can spend his life talking about God, yet still avoid Him.

Of course, I might be wrong...this is just a humble observation. #
