Not God, not John Kerry

The post is in response to a Wall Street Journal article about banks -- in this case, in Wisconsin -- offering home loans and other financial services to illegal immigrants.

MILWAUKEE -- Javier and Araceli Garcia, illegal immigrants from Mexico, never imagined that the U.S. government would help them buy a home.
But last year, the couple secured a $54,600 mortgage to buy the gray, 1,158-square-foot bungalow that they had been renting for eight months. The Wisconsin housing authority financed the loan. The Internal Revenue Service gave them an identification number that let them apply for it at local Mitchell Bank, which was happy to take their business….
Competition for new customers is driving banks to offer home loans and other financial services to illegal immigrants — and they are getting help from government agencies, such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
The FDIC encourages banks to lend and invest in underserved markets regardless of customers’ immigration status….
In Wisconsin, the state housing agency’s decision to help banks lend to illegal immigrants has set off a fierce debate in the state Senate over whether these newcomers should benefit from programs designed for legal residents. Banks in other states have started similar programs.

This has to be the perfect set-up for analyzing how right-wingers -- given such a slap-in-the-face reason for outrage and another entry for their victimology diaries -- respond to the guilty corporate interests (the banks) and their government (state and federal) and political enablers.

It won't spoil the surprise if I tell you that some blame PC-liberal-Democrat-elites, of course.

I am increasingly sure this is the sad, painful result and consequence of 8 years of PC control of the executive. It will take decades to fix it all, especially given how many lefties are working in the drone positions in the government.

The problem with the loans to illegals is not a lib problem in Wisconsin. The repubs have been in power and are only now starting to respond since the story made national news. It's been local news for at least 6 months. The way things are going in this state, I'd swear they were all RINOs!

Republican congress now going on six years, ditto for the WH. The President has known about this problem and hasn't done anything about it…. You going to tell a capitalist banker that he can't give a loan out when his bank is heading for red ink and he has someone who is going to sign on the dotted line?
