Duh Official Record (Special "We still at war" Edition)

From the Press Conference of the President (whitehouse.gov)

I think people are opposing my nominees because they don't like the judicial philosophy of the people I've nominated.

I'm sure there are some people that don't like me.

Q: Mr. President, . . . how do you explain that more people are dying in terrorist attacks on your watch than ever before?

THE PRESIDENT: [W]hen you engage the terrorists abroad, it causes activity and action. And we're relentless.

It's in our country's interests to find those who would do harm to us and get them out of harm's way. . . . We -- we still at war.

At NRO, Stanley Kurts makes an unintentionally horrifying comparison: Reforming social security is a lot like bringing democracy to Iraq.

Now here's a word you'd think Ann Coulter would avoid using: "Drag liberals into the light" [the title of her most recent column]

A handy tip fromJonah Goldberg on how to rigorously evaluate primary sources: BTW, I found the joint Pacific Research Institute - AEI publication extremely useful. . . . Moreover, they are advertising on our site. Look to the top of the page. You could do them, us, and yourself a big favor. . . by clicking on the link.

And finally, from Lou Dobbs: The madness just continues. . . .
