"The Abrams Report" Special: Scott Peterson
(MSNBC)

MICHAEL BELMESSIERI, PETERSON JUROR: Scott came in with a great big smile on his face, laughing. It was just another day in paradise for Scott, another day that he had to go through the motions. But he‘s on his way home, Scott figures. Well, guess what, Scotty. . .

RICHELLE NICE, PETERSON JUROR: San Quentin‘s your new home!

BELMESSIERI: And it‘s illegal to kill your wife and child in California!

Hannity & Colmes (Fox News)

BOB BECKEL, GUEST HOST: Tonight, there may be a new endangered species to add to the national register -- the Easter Bunny. Several south Florida shopping malls have renamed the large, white rabbit that's handing out plastic eggs to kids with names that don't refer to the Christian holiday, like "Peter Rabbit" and "Garden Bunny".
Is this political correctness going too far? Joining us now is the communications director of American Atheists, David Silverman. David, what's up?

DAVID SILVERMAN, AMERICAN ATHEISTS: Hey, thanks for having me back on the show.
You know, first of all, I want to say that this is about private property and this is about private enterprise. And they can name their bunnies anything they want. They can name them Peter Rabbit or they can name them the Jesus Bunny for all we care.

Inside Politics (CNN)

WOLF BLITZER: Back in action. He lost a foot in battle.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And I ran over an anti-tank mine, and my leg was (UNINTELLIGIBLE). In November I ran a marathon.

BLITZER: Really?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I ran the New York marathon.

BLITZER: Really?

Just ask to see the guy's prosthetic limb, Wolf. Geez. Too bad you weren't this skeptical in the run-up to the Iraq War.

Special Report With Brit Hume (Fox News)

VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY: We went through this back in 1983. When I was a junior member of the House of Representatives, we had a crisis then in Social Security. We couldn't pay the checks.

To quote Wolf Blitzer: Really?

Inside Politics (CNN)
ALLAN CHERNOFF, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Oil market analysts and traders list other factors pushing gas prices up. . . . U.S. refineries are at maximum capacity. And gasoline imports. . . are vulnerable to interruption, as happened during last year's strike in Venezuela.

The other key factor pushing gas prices higher is demand from U.S. drivers, which shows no sign of slowing down this summer, even with prices well above $2 a gallon.

WOODRUFF: So I guess we're prepared.

Hardball With Chris Matthews (MSNBC)

DAVID SHUSTER, NBC CORRESPONDENT: And President Bush, who had flown to the White House to wait for the measure, was woken up at 1:00 a.m. to sign it. A few minutes later in Florida, Robert Schindler spoke to his daughter Terri as if she was not in a vegetative state.

BOB SCHINDLER, FATHER OF TERRI SCHIAVO: I said, we had to wake up the president to save your life.

If only someone had woken up the president at some point during the August 6, 2001, Presidential Daily Briefing ("Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S."). . . .
