Reportedly, This Is Sloppy Writing

Jacko and Snoop Dogg's America
Michelle Malkin (Town Hall)

For the starting point of her cry-me-a-river-about-racism column in Town Hall, Malkin uses this:
Joe Jackson reportedly told CBS News's "48 Hours":
This is just the United States. All the rest of the countries, all over the world, are proud of Michael. It's here we have the most trouble out of them. It is racism.
So, did Joe Jackson say this or not? Who knows. Malkin doesn't provide a link to the transcript, nor does she say whether she watched the program and heard it with her own ears. No matter. It doesn't stop her from using "'It's racism,' if you believe Joe Jackson" as a sneering mantra in the rest of her column.

Oh, and Americans are too accepting: "The lesson...is not that this nation is too intolerant, but that it is not nearly intolerant enough."

Well, I know it tolerates far too much sloppy writing in opinion pieces.
